    Yeah I totally get that. It is a fairly rare poem that actually adds to the story- there are a lot that just seems like the author taking the opportunity to branch out. I also struggle with reading epic songs within books- I try to imagine some roaring folksy tune, but just end up that annoying rhythm you mentioned.
